Sex Therapy

When intimacy issues arise, it’s easy to feel hopeless or uncomfortable even talking about it, yet having a meaningful and fulfilling sex life is important to all of us. When a sexual issue, whether it is performance, anxiety, inability to feel pleasure, or even setting boundaries and exploring, gets in the way of strengthening a relationship, therapy allows for collaboration to create a meaningful solution. Sex therapy is specialized to each person and is not a “one size fits all” approach.

Neurodivergent Therapy

Feeling understood can be difficult neurodivergent individuals, including autistsics and ADHDers. Some have a hard time with eye contact or emotional connection, while others might struggle with routine and finishing tasks. These concerns can create obstacles in being successful not only in relationships, but in achieving other goals. Counseling can help not only learn new skills to assist in overcoming these challenges, but teach how to emphasize the advantage a neurodiverse brain has.

Couples Therapy

Usually a bond with another person improves our quality of life, but it can also cause harm when the relationship sours. Negative patterns begin emerging that can rupture even the strongest relationship such as ineffective communication, conflict and abuse, infidelity, or even avoidance. Counseling can help bridge the gap from what has been lost and teach strategies to overcome any future obstacles, as well as teaching each individual how to express themselves in a way that gets their message across in a more peaceful way.

EMDR Therapy

Sometimes traditional talk therapy just isn’t enough to cut it. That’s where EMDR can come in. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) was designed to assist clients in alleviating the symptoms associated with traumatic memories, sometimes allowing for months of therapy to be covered in just a few short weeks. EMDR can help clients struggling with PTSD and trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues.

Relationship Abuse Recovery

Having strong relationships with family members can be so meaningful and an asset to life—but getting along with them or adjusting to adding or blending to your family can be tense and challenging. There might be a lack of interaction, isolation, or overall feelings of tension. Counseling can help improve bonds and connection, leaving all parties helpful. This could be family therapy, but also individual therapy to help smooth over the conflict and process transitions.

Trauma Therapy

Sometimes, situations out of our control derail our life. It can be abuse, witnessing a traumatic scenario, or surviving a life-threatening event. We no longer feel like ourselves, have nightmares, anxiety, or just can’t function. Trauma-focused therapy recognizes how intense a traumatic experience is, and how impactful it is on an entire life. It helps re-center on emotional, physical, and mental well-being so you can overcome and continue moving forward. It’s not about “going back to how it used to be”, but instead creating a new normal.
